Proposal to delist Kellys Cellars counterproductive

Yesterday afternoon in the NI Assembly I had the opportunity to query the Environment Minister, Mark H Durkan MLA as to why it has been proposed to delist Kellys Cellars Belfast as an historic listed building. The Minister explained that this is party of an ongoing survey of such buildings in the City. He is aware that there is widespread support to protect this building, and he confirmed that any decision will take into account all local views and opinions on the need to maintain its status. I was also glad that he agreed with me that such a move would be counterproductive in terms of heritage tourism in Belfast.
